BioDry ProSolv Solvent-Based Damp-Proof Injection Fluid - Biokil Crown

Professional-Grade Damp-Proof Injection for Treating Rising Damp in Masonry Walls

BioDry ProSolv is a ready-to-use, solvent-based damp-proofing fluid formulated with poly-oxo aluminium stearate (POAS) for injection into masonry to form an effective chemical damp-proof course (DPC). Ideal for use in both brick and stone walls, it penetrates deeply into mortar beds via high- or low-pressure injection. This fast-acting solution blocks rising damp and moisture transfer through capillaries, offering long-lasting protection in existing buildings.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Solvent-Based Formula: Delivers rapid penetration and deep diffusion into damp masonry.
  • Ready to Use: No dilution required—ideal for fast-paced professional application.
  • Versatile Application: Suitable for high-pressure brick injection or low-pressure mortar bed treatment.
  • Effective in All Wall Types: Performs in brick, stone, solid, and cavity walls of varying thicknesses.
  • Rapid Injection: High performance under site conditions with adjustable pressure (up to 100 psi).
  • Long-Term Protection: Forms a robust chemical barrier against rising damp in existing structures.

Application Areas

  • Rising damp remediation in brick or stone
  • Heritage and retrofit damp-proofing
  • Internal and external masonry walls
  • Solid, cavity, and thick-section walls

Preparation & Application

  • Surface Prep: Remove skirtings, plasters, damaged renders, and rake out mortar beds to ensure proper penetration.
  • DPC Line: Should be at least 150mm above ground level externally, and just above floor level internally.
  • Drilling: 10–14mm holes spaced ≤170mm apart into or angled toward mortar beds. Adjust method based on wall thickness.
  • Injection: Inject using high-pressure (up to 100 psi) or low-pressure (5–50 psi) methods, depending on wall and application type.
  • Stone Walls: Drill and inject into mortar beds only—stone is often too dense for effective absorption.

Technical Specifications

  • Composition: Poly-oxo aluminium stearate in organic solvent
  • Form: Clear, ready-to-use liquid
  • Injection Pressure: 5–100 psi depending on wall material and thickness
  • Coverage: ~2.5L per metre for 230mm thick walls
  • Flash Point: 40°C – Flammable
  • Packaging: 25L metal container
  • Shelf Life: Up to 2 years (stored cool, away from flame)

Post-Treatment & Safety Notes

  • Odour: Solvent smell may persist for 2–3 weeks post-installation
  • Decorating: Use only non-vinyl paints for 9–12 months after treatment
  • Ventilation: Ensure good airflow during and after application
  • Flammable: Avoid ignition sources; vapour may linger temporarily
